photoblog image WADi BEEH

around 2000 m above sea level, located in ras al khaima in the United arab emirates. Shot taken after the Stair way to heaven climb where every year a couple of climbers come under prepared and loose their lives. Not enough emphasis on how dangerous the climb is given in climbing and hiking manuals of the surrounding area. Unlike many places such as australia there are no markers or direction indicators to assign a way through the trecherous wadi hence a GPS is a advisable. I and a couple of mates did this climb and took readings that the route was 22 km (including getting lost)plus 2000 m in height! we had to spend a night on a terrace plot of land that the locals use to penn their mountain goats.
